I cannot stress enough the importance of medical conferences in the fight against Lyme disease. In April of 2013 and 2014, I was actively involved in the Lyme and Tick Borne Disease Conferences in Hershey, PA, sponsored by ILADS and hosted by PA Lyme Resource Network. Last year, we had a sell out crowd. I did the legwork from my bedside so that nurses could attend and receive CEU credits. As a former nurse, I know full well that nurses are the eyes and ears for the doctors. Therefore, it is crucial for them to know how to screen for Lyme disease. Although I was bed-bound, I wanted so dearly to see nurses attend these conferences and receive CEU credit.
ILADS provides medical conferences led by cutting edge practitioners in the field of Lyme disease. They are invaluable if you are a healthcare provider trying to learn how to treat this complicated disease, or if you are a patient or advocate of Lyme.
